2024 Zero DSR
EFFORTLESS POWER
The DSR is the undisputed middleweight champion of the Zero dual sport line up. The all-new for 2024 Zero DSR delivers 144 ft-lbs of stump-ripping torque and a whopping 80 hp that will make any tough route seem tame. The DSR has entirely improved capabilities thanks to its new battery, a whole new style, and a brand-new motor. Plus, it’s now built on the same technology platform as the pinnacle of electric dual sport, the DSR/X, so it comes with many of the same features for less.
Z-FORCE 75-10X
The 2024 DSR uses the Z-Force 75-10X direct drive motor variant which is found on the award-winning DSR/X and is specially tuned for the rigors of navigating rough terrain. Sharing some of the same architecture as the 75-10 found on Zero street motorcycles, but with completely different internals, this motor delivers 140 ft-lbs of torque and 80 hp of immediate power stock, with upgrades available up to 169 ft-lb and 100 hp through Zero’s NextGen app. All this along with Zero’s renowned internal permanent magnet, brushless architecture, and a passively air-cooled, compact design delivers class-leading performance and efficiency with virtually no maintenance required.
POWER PIVOT
Sharing the same chassis as the rest of the Zero Motorcycles dual sport model line, the 2024 DSR features Zero’s proprietary and reinforced concentric motor and swingarm pivot design. This provides optimal architecture to ensure constant drive-belt tension and maximum torque delivery to the rear wheel. A custom-designed, large-bearing swingarm pivot allows ample space for the high-performance motor while allowing a slim chassis waist to enhance rider ergonomics and bike maneuverability either through traffic or rutted-out back country.
EFFORTLESS CONTROL
The 2024 Zero DSR runs Zero’s latest Cypher III+ operating system and is accompanied by a suite of standard performance features. Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), including the same Offroad MSC that is found on the DSR/X, is equal parts brawn and brains. The DSR is an adaptable motorcycle and powertrain combination that navigates diverse road terrain and conditions as easily as it accommodates its rider’s every need.
CYPHER III+
Cypher III+ sets the benchmark as the premier operating system for electric motorcycles, orchestrating the Zero DSR with precision. The DSR is infinitely customizable and comes with the ability to add new Cypher Features through the NextGen app. Elevate your riding experience to the next level with the Zero DSR.
ARSENAL OF RIDE MODES
The Zero DSR's arsenal of ride modes allows the rider to customize the bike's performance through Zero’s intuitive NextGen app and dash interface. The DSR navigates the road no matter the conditions with Rain, Eco, Standard, Sport, and Canyon modes pre-loaded along with a virtually infinite number of custom-tuned mode adjustments available. Bosch Offroad MSC can be applied to any mode, enhancing control in low-traction conditions. Experience unparalleled flexibility and performance tailored to your preferences and terrain.
EFFORTLESS CONNECTION
The Zero DSR is a truly "smart" motorcycle. Equipped with our Cypher III+ operating system, over-the-air (OTA) updates are easily available thanks to the integrated Cellular Connectivity Module (CCM) running on 4G wireless. Customize the dash, access the NextGen app with standard features, and enjoy limitless possibilities. Futureproof intelligence and unmatched power make the DSR the ultimate ride with seamless connection in every detail.
THE CONNECTED BIKE
The Zero DSR is connected through cellular networks, transmitting info to the NextGen app at all times. The app offers access to a host of ride information including current bike status and location that are always available. This connectivity gives the rider the ability to monitor the bike in four main areas: Bike Status & Alerts, Charging, Ride Data Sharing, and OTA System Updates.
ADVANCED APP
Zero’s NextGen app works with the dash and Cypher III+ to create a feature-rich ecosystem with access to new Cypher Features where upgrades can be selected with the tap of a finger. Faster Charging, On-Dash Navigation, and Parking Mode are just a few of the features available for you to choose from. Other features already included for free within the app include ride mode selection and creation, personalized dash options, scheduled and target-based charging, and so much more.
Z-FORCE 15.6 BATTERY PACK
The Z-FORCE 15.6 kWh lithium-ion battery requires no maintenance or upkeep and makes the DSR capable of 155 miles of city range. Riders can extend their range even farther with the available Power Tank accessory (dealer install required). The battery’s industry-leading power and energy density combined with an aluminum heat-sink housing and thermal transfer interface ensure consistent cell cooling and maximum long-term powertrain performance.
RAPID CHARGE SYSTEM
Zero’s Rapid Charge System is customizable to multiple charging levels. The DSR stock 3.3 kW charge configuration can be upgraded to 6.6 kW. To gain even faster charging, riders can purchase and install through a local dealer the 6kW Rapid Charging Module accessory to add an additional 6kW of charge capacity. Regardless of the onboard charging capacity and configuration, you can always use the included EVSE cord to charge the Zero DSR from any standard wall outlet for an overnight charge.
Z-FORCE 75-10X
The Z-Force 75-10X direct drive motor is specially tuned for the rigors of navigating rough terrain. It utilizes an internal permanent magnet, brushless architecture, and a passively air-cooled, compact design delivers class-leading performance and efficiency with virtually no maintenance required. This motor delivers 140 ft-lbs of torque and 80 hp of immediate power stock, with upgrades available up to 169 ft-lb and 100 hp.
CHASSIS
The Zero DSR uses the same geometry and design of the steel-trellis frame found on Zero’s street motorcycles but is reinforced for the rigors of challenging terrain. The powertrain is perfectly distributed, resulting in a weight-optimized/mass-centralized design. The Zero DSR componentry is situated differently to optimize for adventure by providing a category-leading 9.7” of ground clearance. Paired with a coaxial power-pivot swingarm which has also been reinforced to handle greater loads under harsher conditions, the architecture of the bike and Showa’s adventure suspension delivers a nimble and controlled riding experience.
LINKED BRAKING
The DSR features a linked braking system. Controlled by the integrated Bosch Advanced Stability Control System, it activates instantly upon sensing a loss of traction or any slippage. The system immediately applies the right amount of braking to the J.Juan front and rear brakes simultaneously, providing added control when climbing or descending steep, loose terrain.
SEE CLEARLY
Customize your dash or simply let the industry’s gold standard in auto-contrasting light sensing do all the work for you. Data fields abound when you choose the bike info you want to focus on, clearly legible on the full-color 5” TFT display. Multi-mode navigation enables on-the-fly ride mode switching, cruise-control, heated grip control, and much more.
DIALED SUSPENSION
The DSR delivers a smooth ride fit for any terrain or load with enhanced suspension for your ADV outings. A 47-mm Showa fork offers 7.4 inches of travel and full adjustability. Also, the convenient dial for hand-adjusting preload on the new Showa shock also offers the perfect accommodation for a pillion rider or fully-loaded optional TRAX ADV cases (sold separately).
RUBBER SIDE DOWN
The DSR can navigate virtually any obstacle in its way thanks to its incredibly light and durable cast wheels, 19” up front and 17” in the rear. These come wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires for uniformly excellent performance on all surface types. The indomitable Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires are available for those riders who want to upgrade their DSR into a fully trail-rated off-road monster.
CARBON STRONG
Zero collaborated with Gates Carbon Belt Drive, the leader in belt-driven powersport technologies, to develop an entirely new belt drive system for the DSR. Wider, stronger, and more capable than ever, the Gates Carbon Drive Moto X9™ belt is paired to the Mudport Wheel Sprocket with larger, ported sprockets to reduce bend angles and eliminate debris from the drive train. This combination results in the most durable drive system that is found on any electric motorcycle.
